EDUCATIONAL VISITS: DISCOVERING THE HISTORY OF ART AND ITS HIDDEN SYMBOLS

In line with the founding principles established at its formation, one of the Yannick and Ben Jakober Foundation's objectives is the promotion of Art and education in artistic endeavours. From the outset the Foundation has encouraged educational activities at all school levels.
We feel that art has a very important role in education and social integration and can reach out to students where other techniques have failed. Therefore a museum must provide an artistic education that complements the lessons they receive at school and which fills the void in that area.
The Yannick and Ben Jakober Foundation thus proposes a free didactic program, using various approaches from which to appreciate art and foment curiosity about it. Set in a bucolic location, Sa Bassa Blanca Museum allows students to focus on art while enjoying nature

INTERNSHIP FOR STUDENTS OR GRADUATES

The Foundation offers the opportunity to gain work experience through agreements signed with universities.

The program is aimed at university students and graduates in History, Art History, Fine Arts and related studies. We offer the possibility of developing knowledge acquired at university with practical experience in the museum, working with the  Foundation's team and participating in the different museum tasks: organizing exhibitions, documentation and research, support for management tasks, communication and guided tours. Interns have access to the extensive library of old masters and contemporany artists and archives, to research and increase their knowledge. Finally, they have the opportunity to meet International artists, historians and professionals.

Those interested can make their application with a resume, covering letter and two references from teachers or professionals in the art world by mail, fax or email.

Family Day: Saturdays at Sa Bassa Blanca Museum

Family visit to the art collections of the Sa Bassa Blanca Museum, guided by a monitor who will make art very attractive to children. A great way to spend Saturday mornings with your family in a natural environment.
The Zoo, a sculpture park with giant granite animals inspired by ancient civilizations will delight children. The tour also includes the “Nins” Collection, European Old Master portraits of children from the 16th to the 19th century, most of them royal or aristocratic.
And finally, our most original area, SoKraTES: a skeleton of a Fossil of a woolly rhinoceros from the Late Pleistocene, ancient ritual masks from Nepal and Tibet coexist with contemporary paintings (by artists  Miquel Barceló, Ferrán García Sevilla or Dolores Vita), all under the sparkle of the 10,000 crystals that make up the Swarovski curtain.

This activity is an opportunity to approach the art world with your children, while enjoying the scenic surroundings in the Mediterranean countryside. The perfect plan for a Saturday morning.
